Was wäre, wenn / What if

> meiner CD-Sammlung “Tales of Mystery and Imagination” von The Alan Parsons Project fehlen würde? Unvorstellbar. Es ist einfach eines meiner Lieblingsalben geworden über die Jahre. Alleine das gesprochene Intro zu Dream Within a Dream von George Orwell verschafft mir regelmäßig eine Gänsehaut.

Einige Rezensionen hierzu finden sich auf den Babyblauen Seiten. Mein Lieblingslied auf diesem Album ist The Cask of Amontillado; es lässt sich so schön gruseln bei dieser Geschichte von Edgar Allan Poe über das Schicksal des unglücklichen Fortunato.

 

> The Alan Parsons Project’s “Tales of Mystery and Imagination” wasn’t a part of my CD collection? Unthinkable! Some years ago, I gave it to a friend of mine as she wanted to listen to it, but she never gave it back (I guess that’s something everyone has to experience sooner or later, sigh). I bought it again recently and oooh… George Orwell’s narration still makes me shiver every time I listen to Dream Within a Dream :-) The album was released in 1976, so “we” are both the same age, by the way.
